Eelco Dolstra 453e9abc9e * Work around an apparent bug in Bash 4.0. It no longer accepts this:

echo $(cat <<EOF
    bla
    EOF)

  It does accept backticks:

    echo `cat <<EOF
    bla
    EOF`
